the ground breaking cylinda line series was conceived when jacobsen made some rough sketches on a napkin. it was necessary that new machines and welding techniques be developed to accomplish the remarkably smooth, cylindrical stainless-steel surfaces, devoid of any tension lines. when the cylinda line came hit the market in 1967, it attracted both wide attention and design awards for its serene, functionalist design. the exquisitely elegant serving tray is made from 18/8 stainless steel and is satin polished.
